As you have by now figured out; I have really enjoyed the signs here in China. Of course, there is the humor that can be found in the Chinglish Translations where we try and figure out exactly what was supposed to be communicated versus what was actually communicated. But I suppose there is also the fun in discussing not only the message intended, but also the resultant message based on the words, pictures, location, etc.; the fun in discussing a message which was, well, maybe not directly intended.
That is what I am offering to you today.
When you see the sign below, you will immediately recognize the message that is intended. A message that we see and hear almost constantly in our world of Global Warming/Cooling (depending upon which science you currently subscribe).
But in this case, in this particular context, I think the more noble message was lost.
Very lost.
In fact, regardless of what global region you are in whether it be the west, Asia, Europe, “NAMESTAN”, or points in between; there are times when being environmentally conscious is just going a wee bit too far.

General Observations to date ...
... Buddhist gods must be really important, why else do they get names like "Pure Vital Breath Primordial Sovereign of the Big Dipper in Middle Heaven"? Makes you appreciate our God who doesn't need a fancy name to impress.
... I saw a sign for the “Intangible National Heritage State Park”.
What is that?
I don’t know – I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

... Chinese women stay at home for 30 - 40 days after giving birth and never go outside. My Chinese friends (while in USA this past July) saw a woman with a 14 day old baby. They were shocked! Naturally, they had to inquire and the American Mom said "I'd go crazy - its only been 2 weeks and I HAD to get out."
I remember Elise and I going out when Sam was around 2 to 3 weeks old. I came home from work and she said "I gotta get out of this house NOW" We had a great dinner...he slept all the way through it (and hasn't stopped talking since).
... a local man was so unhappy in his marriage, that he faked a crime and left clues for the police to discover in hopes he would be caught. He was. He said jail was a better option than going home to his wife. The Police spokesman said "He had been drinking all day."
You think?
