More Chinglish Explained

This has nothing to do with my current trip, really, but my buddy Dan N sent this to me and I just had to share with more people.

If you will recall (of course you do), way back in May of 2009, I wrote about Chinglish Signage that I had photographed and then shared with all of you so you could enjoy (see my original post - http://mitchellmercer.blogspot.com/2009/05/chinglish-explained.html)

This is more of that.
Apparently, Dan got his hands on a user manual for a Chinese 3 in 1 Food Processor.  I think the instructions may have actually gone THROUGH the blender.  Thats the only explanation for how these instructions ended up like this ... My head was spinning as if in the same blender just trying to read it.

Leave it to Dan to find this but Kudos for the discovery!

What are you talking about? This is exactly how I make my "good for you very berry better now you feel consume after make" smoothie every morning!

Credit goes to brother-in-law Steve Winstead, in Beijing, who won the blender as a company safety award, and passes on perhaps the "2011 Best of Chinglish" work!

Both June 19 and 20 were great. We do the same thing with the restaurants here around the office, and they are already in English! We distinguish between the two local Mexican restaurants by referring to the one that has long tables with bench seating as “El Bench”. The best name, however goes with our favorite Chinese restaurant which is always referred to by its nickname. The real name is “something, something Garden” (I’m not even sure any more). It’s a pretty typical Chinese restaurant, but has the added feature of a circular fountain in the middle of the dining area. It kind of looks like a round, tile hot tub and has a fountain in it that shots a couple of dozen streams of water in a foot high outward facing arch. You always make sure that you have gone to the bathroom before going there, or the sound and visual image will immediately trigger the urge. The restaurant’s nickname: “Pissy Garden”

It is great to hear from you.
