Christmas/New Year in USA

Back in S’Burg and back to work/school!
We had a really nice Christmas and New Year.
Stayed home for Christmas and generally enjoyed each other’s company for the week (Big Elise was with us this year). Had nice Christmas Eve services (both 05:30 and 11:00) and Church Christmas party in between.
Drove down to Macon Sat for New Years. It rained and was sunny and cold (not Flo's kind of cold, but 22 degrees is very cold for Macon).
We went out to Jay’s parents “Property” on Monday for an afternoon of shotgun/rifle/pistol shooting. We shot clay pigeons and aluminum cans (I was 1 for 2 with the shotgun, 2 for 3 with 22 rifle at targets and a big 0 for 4 with pistols at targets).
Yes, Mom, we were very careful. Jay conducted firearm safety class for all and then we had very organized shooting as well as walking around the property – it was a beautiful day!
Of course, we DID have to be rescued by "The Mom's" before the day was over.
We had been listening to the Tech football game on car radio and naturally let the battery run down. Jay hit the ignition and heard that awful "click" noise. We both grumbled something unprintable and I looked at Jay and said "Call anybody but Lucia/Elise - we'll never hear the end of this." Jay said "We don't get cell phone signal way out here."
Fortunately, my Verizon phone did, so we called his brother.
No Answer. Uh Oh.
So we had to call Lucia. They came and rescued us - laughing all the way Ho, Ho, Ho.
Here are some pictures. It was 1st time for shooting for Elise and me though the boys have done some with Scouts. I really enjoyed the .22 rifle and .20 gauge shotgun – didn’t much care for the pistol (45 revolver and 9mm). The picture of Elise with the pistol is the best (last photo below)! Katherine looks like Annie Oakley and despite being her 1st time with the shotgun; she looks like she has done this all her life!
Had a GREAT day watching football on 01 Jan – I was THE definition of couch potato, but enjoyed every minute of it!
We got home yesterday (I think 33 was the warmest for the day).
Everybody hit the bed early and I think was asleep in 24 seconds.

I leave for China next Thurs 10 Jan and come home sometime in March; but equipped with my new gloves, scarf, ear muffs, and IPod (courtesy of Santa), and IPod travel alarm clock (courtesy of early birthday from Mom/Dad), I guess I am set.
I will be posting more next from China (maybe take an extra day on theway over in Beijing to see the "Great Wall."
