Packing, Again

I'm packing for my next trip (some of you know this; some don't).
Chengdu, China
I will be spending 3 weeks in China (both Chengdu and Xiangtan), then 1 week in Chennai, India and then follow that with 1 week in Ploesti, Romania.  It will be my first time in India (good thing I like curry) and Romania (good thing I like beer).
We already have manufacturing in India and Romania, but these two locations are currently targeted in our plans for more growth and expansion, so I was asked to help in those areas.  Its difficult to tell at the moment exactly how much of my time these locations will require of me, but suffice it to say that I at least think them large enough in scope to justify upgrading my Blog Title Picture.  What do you guys think of this version?  Let me know, I can always change it again.

Anyway, the wild and crazy part of this unique trip is that my brother will be in Chennai the very same week I am there!  I have heard of people going to crazy extremes to create family reunions, but he only lives 2.5 hours away here in the USA, and yet we both have to travel all the way to India to see each other.

Yeah, He's a Goob!

After we (me, Marty, and of course, Rock Star Milly) had our adventures together in China back in 2010
(for a recap, see
if Marty and I can manage some time together that week in Chennai, we should have some pretty entertaining stories for you.

I may even let him "guest-blog" if he behaves, acts nice - and doesn't make funny faces.

So, in preparation for anything I learn on this trip - do your own google searches on Chennai and Ploiesti and post a comment here any of those things that you think I should see and do!

Of course, you know that the city's name under British rule was Madras! You too should be right at home.

I will be working with a bunch of mechanical engineers in the mining business, and Mitchell, is, of course, an ME from Ga Tech. So it will be interesting to see him interact with his old cronies. Especially now that he is really a process and quality engineer! In fact, I think he is drifting closer to my ISyE side of the world! In addition to drifting to India too!

When are you leaving? Every Valentine's Day I think about the need to get the four of us together and your email prompts me to try...perhaps before you depart if that is not just around the corner. All well on this end and I hope with y'all too. Enjoyed your previous post on your visitors!

I thought I would get more a rise from Marty with that picture, but I guess not.
(Of course, he DID pose that way on purpose when we were in Changsha).
